Rental Housing Alliance PAC believes these candidates will do the best job fighting for the issues and concerns of our members and professionals who develop, own, manage, and support apartment communities across the Charlotte region. Together, these candidates have demonstrated an understanding of the vital role that rental housing plays in supporting our city’s affordability, economic vitality, and continued growth.

That is why RHA PAC proudly endorses the following candidates for the 2025 Charlotte City Council elections:

Vi Lyles for Mayor

With nearly 40 years in public service, Mayor Lyles has dedicated herself to delivering real results for our community. She has expanded public transportation, secured funding for affordable housing, and invests in community safety. She has secured $150 million towards affordable housing projects and prides herself on bipartisan deals.

Dimple Ajmera (At-Large)

Having served us for four terms, we know Dimple is dedicated to ensuring a better Charlotte for everyone. Continuing to work for us, Councilmember Ajmera will work to build a safe Charlotte regardless of zip code, fight for sustainable infrastructure, expand access to housing affordability, and create economic opportunities all over our city.

James Mitchell (At-Large)

A native to Charlotte, James is focused on building more affordable housing units and developing rental assistance programs for the city, implement an Upward Mobility Program, support funding for the Women’s Business Center, emphasize de-escalation training for police, promote community safety and police stations based on neighborhood feedback.

The Rental Housing Alliance believes that strong transit systems and smart housing policy go hand in hand. Therefore, we are in full support of the transit referendum and urge all citizens of Mecklenburg County to support the referendum on November 4th.
